SIAS hosts seminar on NGO and US engagement in global governance

On April 24, 2015, the US Foreign Policy and NGO Research Center at the SIAS hosted a seminar entitled “NGO and US Engagement in Global Governance: Status Quo, Impact and Inspiration.” The institute’s Executive Director Hu Hua delivered the welcome speech. 

Panel discussions focused on how international NGOs and the US government influence global governance, and particularly what roles NGOs can play in strengthening Sino-US collaborations. 

Fourteen experts and scholars from a variety of institutions attended the meeting and gave speeches, including visitors from: the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies; the Institute of American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; the Institute of International Studies at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences; the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce (USA); the Australia International Trade Association & Associates; the World Wildlife Fund (WWF); the Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy and Greenovation: Hub. The meeting was moderated by Sun Haiyong, Assistant Research Fellow at the SIAS.
